Paisley Pirates are through to the last four of the Scottish Cup after completing a 9-4 aggregate victory over Aberdeen Lynx.

The Pirates took a 3-2 lead into the second leg of the quarter-final and soon extended that advantage.

Goals by Chris Wilson, Liam Riddell and Fraser Campbell made it 6-2 overall by the eight minute mark, before Jordan Leyden pulled one back to give Lynx renewed hope.

Campbell and Riddell both completed their doubles early in the middle session, but Jonathon Hogan quickly reduced the aggregate deficit to four.

Wilson rounded off the scoring with his second of the game late in the final period to crown a comfortable night’s work for the Pirates.

Lynx had better luck in the league after closing the gap on the Pirates at the top of the SNL to two points with an 8-5 home victory over Kirkcaldy Kestrels – Leyden (3) led their scoring.

Dundee Comets remain third in the table after roaring to a 9-2 success at Dundee Tigers – John Dolan weighed in with a couple of goals.
