Edinburgh Capitals SNL kept an iron grip on top spot as they swept past Solway Sharks SNL with a 7-3 victory.

Duncan Speirs opened the scoring short-handed for the visitors, but the Caps soon restored the order of things with a double from Mark Patterson and one from Joel Gautschi.

Michael Corbett and Callum Henderson levelled things in the second period, but it didn’t last long as Jay King and Gautschi’s second put the Murrayfield side 5-3 up after 40 minutes.

They wrapped up the points in the third period as Sean Donaldson found the net, before Gautschi completed his hat-trick with ten minutes to go as the Caps went four points clear at the top of the table.
