
Paisley Pirates edged themselves into pole position as they secured a 2-1 advantage after the first leg of their Autumn Cup semi-final against Edinburgh Capitals SNL.
Both teams were deadlocked after 40 minutes with no sign at that stage how the tie would go, but there was a breakthrough in the third period.
A Robert Henderson slapshot screamed past Caps goalie Craig Mallinson to give the home side the lead as Pirates took an advantage.
Stuart Miller made it 2-0 shortly after on the powerplay with Graham McCamley and Mark Hassan weighing with assists and Paisley had a significant lead.
The Autumn Cup holders came back though as Sean Donaldson fired a shot home with six minutes to go to bring the deficit to one.
Both teams will have to go again at the end of the month for a place in the Autumn Cup Final, with Dundee Tigers awaiting the winners in the final.
