SNL round-up: Title race set to go to the wire

Edinburgh Capitals SNL boosted their title hopes with a 3-2 victory at Dundee Comets.

Mark Paterson, Michael Ireland and Sean Donaldson got the goals which moved Capitals one point behind leaders Kirkcaldy Kestrels with four games to play.

North Ayrshire Wild won 4-2 at Aberdeen Lynx – Daniel Abercrombie (2), Alan Maitland and Alan Gibson were the scorers.

Wild remain third in the table, level on points with the Capitals having played a game more.

Tom Johnston scored twice for Paisley Pirates in their 6-5 success at Solway Sharks SNL. The result keeps Pirates in fourth place, two points behind the Kestrels with a game in hand.

Sharks’ defeat completed a miserable weekend for them as they also crashed 10-3 at home to Moray Typhoons.

Kilmarnock Storm’s 11-2 defeat at home to Dundee Tigers means they are guaranteed to finish the season bottom of the table.
