Guildford Flames have added Canadian forward Charles Wells to their roster.

The 26-year-old spent last season with French side Mulhouse where he scored nine goals with 20 assists in 29 appearances to help them clinch the league title and promotion back to the country’s top flight.

Flames’ boss Paul Dixon said: “As a new team in the league the one area we have really tried to be sure of is team speed, which is impossible to make up for if you fall short.

“By all accounts Charles is a very fast forward and he has been able to help out offensively wherever he has been.

“In college he and John Dunbar played together, so he is another part of a group of players who know each other already and maybe we can use that to our advantage considering our short turnaround from player arrival to opening the league and cup campaign.

“We know Charles is excited to get going and we are looking forward to welcoming him to Guildford at the end of next month.”
