The game between Manchester Storm and Sheffield Steelers was abandoned on Saturday night due to a medical emergency.

The Steelers were leading 7-2 in the third period when the game was stopped and the players left the ice shortly afterwards.

An ambulance arrived at the rink and paramedics treated a person in the crowd, who was then helped down from the stands.

The Elite League acted swiftly to confirm that the result will stand.

There was still 11:54 left in the game at Altrincham Ice Dome that the Steelers had dominated.

They led 6-1 at the end of the second period and Vojtech Polak had added a seventh goal shortly before the abandonment.

Elsewhere on Saturday night, Glasgow Clan defeated Dundee Stars 5-2 at Braehead Arena.

There were comfortable wins for Belfast and Cardiff against Fife and Guildford, while Nottingham Panthers won 1-0 at Coventry.
