The 22-year-old arrives from Storhamar in the Norwegian league and adds some firepower to the offensive lines, with the competition just under a couple of weeks ago.
“We’re excited about Simen,” he said. “We watched a lot of video on him and he’s a good skater, with very good skill and great around the net.
“He plays with a little bit of physicality as well, which is something we liked. He’s 22 and coming into the prime of his career so will come here hungry and push for a spot on the national team. I think he will be a big player for us in this series.”
Edvardsen came through the junior ranks at Storhamar and is just shy of 200 appearances for the club after making his debut in September 2016.
He’s featured for his national team at Under 18 and Under 20 level, so he’ll be keen for a place in the Norway team for the World Championships in May.
Before the Norwegian league was halted, Edvarsen scored 14 goals in 24 games to help Storhamar to top of the league with 18 wins.
His goals tally led the team and ranked joint-second in the league. He also had seven assists for a total of 21 points.
Edvardsen is Blaze’s sixth import confirmed for the Elite Series.
