Former Alaska Aces defender Ryan Trenz has signed for Manchester Storm.

The 25-year-old heads to the Elite League having previously spent four years in the NCAA with North Michigan University.

Storm boss Ryan Finnerty said: “All the references I have acquired on Ryan have been very positive. He has been described as a very mobile and intelligent two-way defenseman that will help our transition game.

“He shows a lot of leadership qualities, is a great skater and is a skilled puck-mover. He’s an instinctive defender with an active stick and his compete level is always high, which is something all coaches look for in a player.

“I’m really excited to have Ryan come to Manchester this upcoming season, and I look forward to working closely with him.

“I’m really happy with where we are at right now. “We’re close on a couple of other guys and I’m speaking to players and agents daily to ensure we slot the correct pieces into the jigsaw to fill our remaining positions ahead of the new season.

“I think the Storm fans are going to be happy when they see this team on the ice come late August – I know I’m really excited by it all.
