Glasgow’s Braehead Clan have been boosted ahead of Saturday’s home game against the Manchester Storm with the news that Cale Tanaka will return to the line-up.
The British Canadian forward, who joined the Clan on a try-out basis back in late November will hit the ice again due to injuries to Ryan Potulny and Tyler Shattock.
The 31-year-old wasn’t available over the festive period due to other commitments, but head coach John Tripp is delighted to have Tanaka back in his team.
“Having an extra body in the line-up ahead of the weekend is a major boost to us right now with the injuries we’re carrying” confirmed Tripp.
“Cale hasn’t been available for a couple of weeks, so it’s great to get him back on the ice and ready for a big game against Manchester.
“While Cale was on a try-out initially, I now envisage him staying with us for the remainder of the season as a spare import as I like what he brings to us.
“He a full time job in Glasgow and that’s something we have to respect, accommodate and work around for Cale.”
