After a few days off, The Numbers Game is back to paint some sort of numerical picture on the semi finals of the Elite Series as we start to look ahead to second legs.
We’ve no idea and the numbers won’t help with that either, but here are some interesting titbits of information ahead of the game.
Number of shots faced and saved by Jackson Whistle in the Panthers net in Tuesday’s first leg, keeping a shutout in the process – the first shutout in the Elite Series
Number of shots on goal each by Coventry pair Nicolai Bryhnisveen and Luke Ferrara against Nottingham, but not finding a way through
Number of points from Christophe Boivin in games against Coventry in the competition so far, made up of three goals and four assists, including his two apples in Tuesday’s first leg.
Number of days since Coventry Blaze experienced a shutout – a 5-0 loss to Belfast Giants in the play-off quarter final on 6th April 2019. Five Blaze players who played in that game played in the first leg against Panthers on Tuesday – Nicolai Bryhnisveen, Ross Venus, David Clements, Alex Forbes and Luke Ferrara
Number of penalty minutes by Coventry’s Max Krogdahl in the Elite Series so far – the most of any player in the competition so far
Paul Swindlehurst made his first appearance of the competition on Tuesday after suffering from injury
Number of shorthanded goals by Tristan Keck in the Elite Series. There have only been five scored from all four teams so far in the tournament.
