Sheffield Steeldogs are back in action after their weekend off as they look to resume their Spring Cup campaign in the best possible way against Raiders.

The Romford men are keen to bounce back after their two losses to Telford Tigers last week and won’t find the challenge of the Steeldogs any easier when they get together in their double header this week.

So let’s look at the numbers and how they favour – or not favour so much – the teams as they get ready to clash:

0

Raiders are the only team to pick up a point in the Spring Cup so far after suffering losses in their opening two games last weekend

6

Number of points picked up by Liam Kirk so far in Steeldogs’ opening two games, scoring five and an assist in the games with Swindon Wildcats

9

Raiders players with a point after their first two games, with four different goal scorers and five different assist makers

5

Sheffield Steeldogs have scored at least five goals in each of their last three meetings against Raiders

91

Jersey number of Nathan Salem, who picked up a total of nine points in the four games against Raiders last season, scoring four and assisting in five

148

Total number of shots by Raiders in their four meetings against Steeldogs last season, outshooting them 148 to 125 in their National League fixtures.

7

Points separating the two teams in the final National League table last season despite only one place between them in the standings – Steeldogs were seventh (53 points) while Raiders were eighth (46 points)

4

Goals scored by Ross Connolly in one game between the teams last January, but Raiders lost 5-4 in Sheffield.  It was one of eight occasions Raiders scored four or more in a game and still ended up on the losing side.
