Basingstoke Bison have confirmed the re-signing of experienced British forward Matt Towalski.

The 32-year-old will be playing his first full campaign with the club, having joined from Bracknell Bees just before Christmas last season.

He helped Bison through their injury crisis at the time and became a key member of the line-up as they clinched the EPL title.

Bison boss Doug Sheppard said: “Matt brings to the team a wealth of experience.

“He proved last year he is very good on the penalty kill and can slot into any line. He gives us even more depth in the line-up.”

Towalski said: “I love playing ice hockey and never expected to win another league title at this stage of my career. I really enjoyed being on the team last season as they were such a great bunch of guys.

“We look on paper stronger than last year, but there are a lot of good teams in this league, which means you have turn up and play your game every night if you want to win.”
