Basingstoke Bison have confirmed the signing of British ‘D’ man Lewis Turner.

The 23-year-old made his EPL debut for Bracknell Bees during the 2011/12 season and has since gone on to make over 200 appearances for the Berkshire club.

Turner said: “I’m no goalscorer – I’m not looking for glory. I like the physical side of the game and my job is stop the forwards scoring – that is what I do well.

“I’m really looking forward to learning from Kurt Reynolds and Joe Baird. I like the look of the team the Bison have and I feel we have a great chance of winning some trophies this season.”

Bison boss Doug Sheppard added: “Lewis is a young player who is going to add even more depth to our line-up.

“He brings something different to the team and will be a good fit in the locker room.

The advantage of having six solid defenseman will hopefully mean we can cope with injuries during the season.”
