Weaver extends stay with the Tigers

Telford Tigers have confirmed Great Britain defender Jonathan Weaver has agreed a new deal until the end of next season.

The current EPL leaders have lost numerous players over the last few days due to the club’s financial issues, but Weaver’s decision to stay with the Shropshire outfit will be a big relief to their fans.

The 39-year-old joined the Tigers back in 2014, having spent the bulk of his career in the Elite League with the likes of Newcastle Vipers, Coventry Blaze and Nottingham Panthers.

Weaver has also been a regular fixture in the GB squad, after first making his debut during the 1997/98 season.
