Coventry Blaze boss Chuck Weber praised his team after seeing them move back into the Elite League play-off places after securing a four-point weekend against Edinburgh Capitals.

Blaze followed up their 12-4 home win over Capitals on Saturday, with a 6-5 victory in Edinburgh the following day to put them three points clear of ninth-placed Manchester Storm.

Carl Lauzon (3) and Chris Bruton (2) topped the scoring for Blaze in their road success to leave Weber in a buoyant mood.

He said: “We talked before the weekend about doing the business and getting four points and that is what we have done.

“It is not easy with the long bus trip up here but we had to grind it out. I much preferred this match, having to play with a one-goal lead for 19 minutes – it was play-off hockey.

“Edinburgh had their push at times and had a couple of chances at the end when they pulled their goalie but we held on.

“I thought the line of Lauzon, Robinson and Bruton was fantastic. Sometimes you need a line to step up and push you over the top and they did that.”
