Weldon has announced the date for his Testimonial match after 10 years with Peterborough Phantoms.

Having first appeared for the side in the 2011-2012 season he’s featured regularly ever since.

Former Sides

Weldon first iced at U16 level for the Nottingham Cougars where he spent three seasons.

He then moved up to U18s playing with Nottingham Leopards then the Lions the following season.

He made three Elite League appearances for the Panthers in the 2009-2010 season and then 12 for the Leopards again.

The next season he was awarded a GB call-up for the U18s and played four times for them.

It was in the following 2011-2012 season his love affair with the Phantoms started.

Two full seasons followed before a GB U20s call-up and five more caps.

Eight straight seasons representing the club at various levels leads us to the present season.

Now about to reach his 10th season with the side he has been offered a testimonial by the club.

Testimonial

In a statement on the Phantom’s website Weldon says: “I am proud to have been a Phantom since 2011 and look forward to continue being a Phantom in the future.

“If anybody had told me when I joined the Phantoms, as a fresh-faced teenager all those years ago, that I would still be here today celebrating such a milestone, I would not have believed them.”

Front Foot Creative Ltd a communications, marketing and content creation firm have sponsored the game.

Weldon personally thanks the firm saying: “I would also like to thank Nik Day at Front Foot Creative Ltd for agreeing to be the official testimonial sponsor, as without such generosity I would not be able to organise such an occasion”

The game has been confirmed for the 28th of May 2022 with a 5:30pm face-off at Planet Ice Arena, Peterborough.
