EPL round-up: Clarkson treble shoots Tigers to the title

The Tigers Celebrate Their Title Win At The End Of The Game, British Ice Hockey

Telford Tigers secured their second EPL title in three years after a comfortable 7-3 win over Bracknell Bees on Saturday.

Doug Clarkson (3) topped the scoring for the Tigers whose title victory was confirmed by MK Lightning’s 6-2 defeat at Swindon Wildcats.

The Tigers completed a four point weekend with a 4-2 success at Bracknell – Corey McEwen hit a hat-trick for the Shropshire outfit.

Lightning sealed the runners-up spot with a 4-2 win at Hull Pirates – Milan Baranyk, Lewis Hook, Antti Holli and Adam Carr got the goals.

Aaron Connolly, Rene Jarolin, Ciaran Long and Derek Roehl were on target for Basingstoke Bison in their 4-1 win at Peterborough Phantoms.

Guildford won 3-1 at home to Hull – Andrew McKinney, Ben Campbell, Jez Lundin scored for the Flames.

Sheffield Steeldogs led 3-2 at home to Swindon after two periods, but the Wildcats hit back in the final session to secure a 5-3 success.
