The Glasgow Clan’s era of Malcolm Cameron is over, and it only took a franchise record sixteen consecutive defeats for him to be forced out.

Ironically, it was the Nottingham Panthers who brought Cameron’s time behind the bench to a close. They dominated his team in midweek, winning by a four-goal margin.

After the team’s 6-2 defeat, a Clan spokesperson wrote: “Results in the early part of this season have been very disappointing and the club are now exploring possible options to succeed Cameron and take the team forward.”

In the short-term, Stephen Dixon will serve as interim head coach and he couldn’t have gotten off to a better start. Glasgow beat the Manchester Storm in their first game without Cameron, ending their run of 16 straight losses.

Elsewhere in the Elite League, the Sheffield Steelers overcame the Guildford Flames in a battle at the top of the standings.

In the National League, the Hull Seahawks secured their first win in franchise history with a shootout victory over the Bristol Pitbulls.
