UK ELITE ICE HOCKEY LEAGUE CONFIRM DATES OF CHALLENGE CUP FINAL & PLAYOFF FINALS

The EIHL have confirmed that the 2018 Challenge Cup Final will once again be played in Cardiff.

The game will take place on Sunday March 4th at Ice Arena Wales with a planned face-off time of 4pm.

Last year’s Challenge Cup Final saw the Devils narrowly beat the Sheffield Steelers 3-2 to claim their 2nd Cup title in the last 3 seasons.

“Returning the Challenge Cup Final to Cardiff was an easy decision and their hosting of it last year was a credit to the Devils’ staff and volunteers.

“Once again, it will be a great event and something to look forward to in the coming months.”

Smith also confirmed the dates of the Playoff Finals Weekend in Nottingham for April 7th & 8th, 2018 at Nottingham’s Motorpoint Arena.

Sheffield Steelers won last season’s playoff title in a classic final with Cardiff Devils, winning 6-5 after a second period of overtime in a game that lasted 4 hours in total.

Further information regarding tickets for both events will be announced in due course, but are expected to go on sale in January.
