Coventry Blaze head coach Danny Stewart has awarded David Broll with an associate captaincy role for the remainder of the 2019/20 season.

The Canadian forward joins the current captaincy group led by Drew Schiestel, Luke Ferrara and Ross Venus.

“We decided to add ‘Broller’ to our leadership group for many reasons,” Steward told the club’s official website.

“He’s well liked in the room and a guy that looks out for his teammates on and off the ice.

“Your leaders must care, and he does. He plays the right way and he compliments our current group very well.”

Prior to landing in Coventry ahead of the 19/20 season, Broll played almost 300 AHL regular season and Calder Cup play-off games, as well as five appearances in the NHL.
