Cardiff Devils booked their place in the Elite Challenge Cup semi-finals after completing an 8-3 aggregate victory over Dundee Stars.

The Devils held a 4-1 lead going into the second leg of their quarter-final tie and quickly extended that advantage when Chis Culligan fired home in the 4th minute.

Vinny Scarsella tied things up four minutes later and Scott Brannon’s goal early in the middle session sparked hopes of a Dundee comeback.

The home side had other ideas as Andrew Hotham and Sean Bentivoglio restored Cardiff’s four-goal cushion before the second break.

Layne Ulmer added another goal in the final period to send the Devils through to meet Belfast Giants in the last four.

Sheffield Steelers, who will face Nottingham Panthers in the other semi-final, remain third in the table after a 6-1 home win against Coventry Blaze – Colton Fretter (2) topped their scoring.
