Basingstoke Bison are the new leaders of the EPL after picking up a trio of victories.

Rene Jarolin (2) and Ciaran Long got the goals in Bison’s 3-0 win at Swindon Wildcats, and Long weighed in with a pair in their 3-2 success at home to Bracknell Bees.

Joe Greener’s second of the night 48 seconds into overtime at Guildford Flames sealed a 5-4 win to complete a six-point weekend for the Hampshire club.

Guildford secured two points with a 5-2 victory at Bracknell – Janis Ozolins (3), Danny Meyers and Jens Eriksson were on target.

Bracknell completed a miserable weekend with a 3-2 defeat at Swindon – goals by Jan Kostal, Toms Rutkis and Jonas Hoog sealed the points for the home team.

Frantisek Bakrlik led the way for MK Lightning as they enjoyed double success against Peterborough Phantoms.

Bakrlik scored twice in Lightning’s 4-2 win on home ice and he followed up with another pair during their victory by the same scoreline in the reverse fixture.

Arnoldas Bosas bagged a couple of goals as Sheffield Steeldogs ran out 4-1 winners at Hull Pirates.
