MK Lightning picked up five points out of a possible six over the weekend to keep their EPL title hopes alive.

Lightning started their triple-header of games with a 2-1 home win against Basingstoke Bison and they secured another point after a 2-1 overtime loss at Swindon Wildcats.

Frantisek Bakrlik bagged a hat-trick during an 8-3 victory at Sheffield Steeldogs to leave Lightning eight points behind Telford Tigers with a game in hand.

Jason Silverthorn (3) topped the scoring for the Tigers in their 4-2 success at Basingstoke, while Doug Clarkson weighed in with a couple of goals as the Shropshire outfit won 5-3 at home to Peterborough Phantoms.

The Phantoms had better luck on home ice as they secured an impressive 6-1 victory over Guildford Flames.

Lee Bonner hit a hat-trick in Hull Pirates 6-0 home win against Bracknell Bees and he followed up with two more in a 3-1 success in the reverse fixture.
