MK Lightning had a mixed weekend as they continued their pursuit of Telford Tigers at the top of the EPL.

Lightning lost 3-1 at Basingstoke Bison, but bounced back with a 3-2 shoot-out victory at home to Swindon Wildcats – Bobby Chamberlain (above) grabbed the deciding goal.

Doug Clarkson hit a hat-trick in Telford’s 7-3 win at Hull Pirates and they followed up with a 3-1 home success against Basingstoke.

Peterborough Phantoms lost 5-3 at Guildford Flames, but they had better luck on home ice after picking up a 2-0 shut-out against Hull.

Guildford completed a rare four-point weekend with a 4-3 shoot-out victory at Bracknell Bees – Jens Eriksson scored the winner.

Jonas Hoog’s hat-trick helped Swindon record a 3-2 home win against Manchester, but the Phoenix didn’t end the weekend empty-handed courtesy of a 5-2 success at home to Sheffield Steeldogs.

That result completed a miserable weekend for the Steeldogs who also fell 4-3 on home ice against Bracknell.
