
Telford Tigers maintained their six-point lead at the top of the EPL despite enduring a mixed weekend.
The Tigers lost 6-2 at Basingstoke Bison, but bounced back to win 5-4 at home to Sheffield Steeldogs – Doug Clarkson’s hat-trick goal proved to be the decider.
Lewis Hook and Frantisek Bakrlik got the goals for second-placed MK Lightning in their 2-0 home win against Basingstoke.
Hull Pirates slipped to a shock 8-3 defeat at Bracknell Bees, but had better luck on home ice as they recorded a 5-3 success against Guildford Flames – Andrej Themar (3) topped the scoring.
Ales Padelek grabbed a hat-trick for Peterborough Phantoms as they cruised to an 8-2 home victory over Bracknell.
Swindon Wildcats ended a three-game losing streak with a 6-5 overtime success at home to Sheffield – Jordan Kelsall bagged the winner.
Manchester Phoenix lost 5-3 at Guildford, but they ended the weekend on a high after Edgars Bebris’ overtime strike sealed a 2-1 home win against Basingstoke.
