MK Lightning secured their third consecutive four-point weekend with victories over Hull Pirates and Peterborough Phantoms to move to the top of the EPL.

Milan Baranyk grabbed the winner in their 5-4 win at home to the Pirates, while Frantisek Bakrlik (above) hit a hat-trick in Lightning’s 5-2 road success against the Phantoms.

Telford Tigers lost 2-1 after a shoot-out at Swindon Wildcats, but bounced back on home ice with a 4-2 victory over Basingstoke Bison.

That result completed a miserable weekend for the reigning champions who also lost 4-3 after a shoot-out at home to the Phantoms.

Pavel Mrna scored two for Sheffield Steeldogs in their 5-3 win at home to Guildford Flames, but they failed to follow up at Hull as the Pirates sealed a victory by the same scoreline.

Tomasz Malasinski, Jonas Hoog and Ben Davies all scored twice in the Wildcats’ 7-4 road win over the Flames.

Manchester Phoenix crashed 7-2 at home to Bracknell Bees, but they bounced back in the reverse fixture to record a 5-0 success.
