The top two teams in the EPL both recorded four-point weekends to keep up the pace at the head of the standings.

Leaders Telford Tigers won 5-1 at Bracknell Bees and followed up with a 6-3 home success over Peterborough – Doug Clarkson (2) and Jason Silverthorn (2) led the way against the Phantoms.

MK Lightning triumphed 6-2 at home to Manchester Phoenix, but they needed a late Adam Carr (above) goal to seal a 4-3 victory at Sheffield Steeldogs.

Hull Pirates had a mixed weekend, losing 8-3 at Peterborough before bouncing back on home ice with a 7-4 success against Swindon – Stanislav Lascek (2), Jason Hewitt (2) and Andrej Themar (2) topped the scoring against the Wildcats.

Reigning champions Basingstoke Bison won 5-3 at home to Sheffield, but their seven-game winning streak was ended in convincing fashion at Guildford as the Flames raced to a 5-1 win.

That result ended a run of three straight defeats for the Flames who had fallen 7-6 at Swindon the previous day.

Edgars Bebris (4) was the star of the show for Manchester as they ran out 8-5 winners at home to Bracknell.
