Milan Kolena had double cause for celebration after grabbing the winner in two games to keep Telford Tigers eight points ahead of MK Lightning at the top of the EPL.

Kolena bagged the decider in Tigers’ 6-5 success at Swindon Wildcats, while his overtime goal against Guildford Flames secured a 4-3 victory back on home ice.

Kevin Phillips and Michal Satek both scored twice for Guildford as they recorded a 4-2 win at Basingstoke Bison.

Lewis Hook (2) and James Griffin (2) led the way for Lightning in their 6-1 win at home to Sheffield Steeldogs, and Pete Russell’s team followed up with a 4-0 victory at Hull Pirates.

Peterborough Phantoms made it five wins from their last six games with a 2-0 home win against Bracknell Bees – Sam Towner and Petr Stepanek got the goals.

Edgars Bebris’ late empty-netter capped a 4-2 home success for Manchester Phoenix against Sheffield.
