Peterborough Phantoms came from behind to secure victory over MK Lightning in the first leg of the EPL Cup final.

Jordan Cownie put Lightning ahead in the first period, but goals by Petr Stepanek (above) and Wehebe Darge sealed a 2-1 home win for the Phantoms.

Both teams had league games the day before the final, with Phantoms losing 4-2 at Guildford Flames while Lightning triumphed 6-3 on home ice against Bracknell Bees.

Champions Telford Tigers extended their winning run to 13 games with another four point weekend.

Jonathan Weaver grabbed the winner in their 4-3 overtime success at Sheffield Steeldogs and the Tigers followed up with a 4-2 win at home to Guildford.

The Steeldogs bounced back from their defeat against Telford with a 6-3 victory at Bracknell – Stanislav Lascek (2) and Ashley Calvert (2) topped their scoring.

Robin Kovar scored twice for Swindon Wildcats in their 5-2 home success against Hull Pirates.
