Lindskoug: We’re better prepared for latest Belfast trip

Lindskoug, British Ice Hockey

GKS Katowice netminder Kevin Lindskoug says his team are better prepared for this Continental Cup weekend when they return to Belfast.

The Polish side qualified along with Adam Keefe’s Giants side for the final group back in November and are preparing to go for the big prize.

But Swede Lindskoug says just reaching this weekend is regarded as an achievement and that the fans are excited for it.

“I think we’ll definitely be better prepared for the weekend in Belfast after our last experience there,” he said.

“Two out of the three games, we were caught off guard because guys were taken by the moment.  Hopefully we can remove that this time and be more prepared.

“Winning it would mean a lot to everyone involved and this is a team trying to prove itself in international hockey.

“Just making the final was a big step in itself in Poland and this team is doing all they can to prepare us for this competition.

“The excitement around here has been great and the fans have been super excited that we made the final.

“They’re prepared for a big weekend and we’re looking forward to playing in front of a big crowd in Belfast again.”
