Hull Pirates are the early leaders of the EPL after recording two victories over the opening weekend.

Andrej Themar (above) hit a hat-trick in their 11-4 win at Manchester Phoenix and Pirates followed up with a 4-2 home success against reigning champions Basingstoke Bison.

Telford Tigers started their season with a 4-1 road win over Bison and made it a four-point weekend after winning by the same scoreline at home to Phoenix.

Frantisek Bakrlik (2) topped the scoring for MK Lightning in their 4-1 victory at home to Bracknell Bees, while Bobby Chamberlain’s second of the night secured a 5-4 overtime success at Guildford Flames.

Sheffield Steeldogs’ forward Andrew Hirst scored both goals for Sheffield Steeldogs in their 2-1 home win against Peterborough Phantoms.

Steeldogs doubled up with a 5-2 road success against the Bees – Arnoldas Bosas (2) led their scoring.

Swindon Wildcats were beaten 4-3 at home by the Flames and completed a miserable weekend with a 6-1 away defeat against the Phantoms.
