Paisley Pirates moved to the top of the SNL after battling to an 8-5 home victory against Kirkcaldy Kestrels.

David Orr, Stuart Miller and Marc Crute gave the Pirates a 3-0 lead by the end of the first period, but the reigning champions regrouped and looked the more dangerous side after the break.

Goals Aaron Robertson, Robin Floyd and Chad Smith tied the game up in the middle session, before Orr grabbed his second of the game in the 38th minute to make it 4-3 to the home team.

Crute and Chris Wilson extended the lead to three early in the final period, but Allan Anderson and Conor Duncan made it 6-5 to set up a tense finish to the game.

Miller settled the home fans’ nerves with his second of the night, before Crute put the icing on the cake with his hat-trick goal to seal the points.

Ross Hay (2), Gary Hughes (2) and Harry Ferguson were on target for Edinburgh Capitals SNL as they recorded a 5-2 home success against Moray Typhoons.
