We’ve scoured Twitter and picked out our favourite tweets of the night as fans, players, coaches and management gathered to watch one of the most compelling occasions the league had ever seen.

Check out what we found

2. Ben Bowns reacts to the news he’s Nottingham bound for the Elite Series

3. in Glasgow, Clan captain Matt Haywood is swapping Glasvegas for Oasis as he prepares for a reunion with former coach Ryan Finnerty and half the 2016 Clan team it seems

4. Young netminder Will Bray is excited by the chance to show what he can do for Coventry Blaze

5. Manchester Storm coach Ryan Finnerty enjoyed the experience of building his team in a different way and the players he’s bringing together

6. In Cardiff, co-owner Steve King greeted news of Matthew Myers’ move to Sheffield Steelers by wanting to make sure the orange is washed out of him when he returns

7. We’ll finish with a tweet that sums it up for us by Chris Ellis, former Elite League media officer, current Ice Hockey UK media officer, member of the FreeSports team and all round good egg.  And so say all of us.
