
MK Lightning co-founder Nick Poole will leave the club after Saturday’s home game against Hull Pirates.
Poole signed for the Milton Keynes Kings in 1999, staying for two seasons until the club folded.
In 2002 he returned to the town, with Vito Rausa and Harry Howton appointing him as Lightning’s Player/Coach.
Under his leadership, the club won the league title for four consecutive seasons and were play-off champions three times.
In the course of 456 games, Poole made more assists than any other player in Lightning’s history (463) and is the club’s third-highest all-time goalscorer (188).
He has served as Lightning’s General Manager since 2015 and has also iced occasionally with MK Thunder in NIHL1 South.
