Swindon Wildcats have confirmed forward Sam Bullas has been retained for the 2016/17 EPL campaign.

The Nottingham-born player made 54 appearances last season, scoring five goals with eight assists. He also racked up 157 penalty minutes.

Bullas has played over 350 games during his seven season stay at the Link Centre, becoming a hugely popular figure both on and off the ice.

He said: “I’m very happy (to have signed a new deal). I’ve been here a long time, it is going to be my eighth season, so it was a very quick talk between Aaron (Nell) and myself and we got it sorted quickly.

“They have brought back some very key guys and players who I get along with on and off the ice.

“People like Neil Liddiard – he’s such a good guy and the type of person you need in your team.

“Aaron is making the right steps and picking some good players – I’m excited to be a part of it.”

Bullas is also the club’s full-time Community Development Officer, a role he is thriving in.

“It is going really well. We are in schools everyday doing assemblies, doing after school clubs and the kids also come to the ice rink where we can teach them how to skate,” he added.

“It is brilliant and it fits in with all my university qualifications, so when I got asked if I wanted to do the role, it was a very easy decision and we’ve had a good year.”
