Great Britain U20 ‘D’ man Callum Buglass has signed a new two-way deal with Swindon Wildcats and Cardiff Devils.

Buglass has spent the last two seasons in the EPL with the Wildcats after progressing through Cardiff’s junior system and is regarded as one of the most promising defenders in the country.

Player/Coach Aaron Nell said: “I’m delighted to have Callum back for next season. He’s a massive part of our club and is only going to get better.

“Callum reads the game well for his age, he makes good first passes, can skate with the puck if needed and he can also be an offensive threat.

“As well as that, he is solid in the defensive zone and good on the penalty kill.

“This is an important summer for Callum. He’s working hard in the gym to put some weight on and that’s going to help him massively come September.”

Buglass added: “I can’t wait to be part of the team again – Aaron has kept a good core group at the club and we want to build on that and push onwards from last season.

“It was tough not making Coventry last year, but it makes us even hungrier to achieve that this time round and I know that everyone at the club is desperate to earn some silverware and the only way we’re going to do that is by putting it all on the line every night.

“We will be doing everything we possibly can to achieve that.

“I can’t wait to get back on the ice with the guys and although the season hasn’t been finished for long, I already want to start playing again.”
