Coventry Blaze have announced the departure of forward Mike Regush, who has joined French side Rouen Dragons ahead of next season.

Regush enjoyed one season in the Elite League, featuring 66 times and recording a stat line of 15 goals and 49 assists.

However, he has opted to make a move to the Ligue Magnus, joining a Dragons side that finished fourth last season.

The Canadian started his hockey career in Canada then moved onto the United States, spending three seasons in the ECAC with Cornell University and winning two Ivy League championships.

He went on to join Miami University of Ohio for the 2021/22 season, bagging nine points in 24 games for the RedHawks.

New faces incoming for Coventry?

Since the conclusion of an Elite League season which saw Coventry finish fifth and subsequently lose in the first week of the playoffs, they have yet to confirm any new additions to their roster.

Two of their existing players will, however, remain at the club, with British defenceman David Clements and Canadian forward Grayson Constable extending their respective stays for a further year.

Blaze stalwart Clements will enter his 11th season with the club in 2025/26. This weekend will also see him celebrate his testimonial game at the Skydome Arena.

Constable, meanwhile, made his professional debut with the club last season and tallied 22 points in 60 Elite League appearances.

Following an impressive opening season in Coventry, the 6’2 right-shot forward was the recipient of head coach Kevin Moore’s Player of the Season award.
