Staffordshire Police have urged the public to be on the lookout for former Newcastle Vipers and Hull Pirates director Andre Payette, who has gone missing.

The 43-year-old is believed to be in the Stoke area, according to a tweet issued by the police as they try and search for the former winger, who also played for Sheffield Steeldogs and Whitley Warriors.

The tweet said: “Have you seen missing Andrei Payette? The 43-year-old was last seen yesterday at 6.30pm in Kingsley and is now believed to be in #Stoke. Anyone that may have seen him or has any information on his whereabouts is asked to call 101.”

Payette first came to the UK in 2004 and was part of the Coventry Blaze Grand Slam winning team in the Elite League before playing at Newcastle for four years.

A year at Manchester Phoenix was following by five with the Steeldogs, with whom he became their player-coach before ending his playing career in 2017 after two seasons with the Warriors.

For the last two years, he’s been a commercial director with Hull Pirates, continuing to work at NIHL level and remains a popular figure in British Ice Hockey.

Anyone with any information should contact Staffordshire Police on 101 if they have any information on Andre’s whereabouts.
